Carly Boyer has apprenticed with Columbines School of Botanical Studies, Arctos School of Botanical Studies and Cascadia Folk Medicine. After synthesizing her herbal education with Urban Edibles plant walks, she released “Urban Herbs,” a guidebook to the NW’s most practical herbal medicine. After releasing this zine, Carly has been working to create more accessibility and awareness around Plant Spirit Medicine. This is a unique opportunity- not to be missed!

Carly (in the purple hoodie), leading an Urban Edibles walk for Our United Villages "Food Sharing" Workshop.
Carly Boyer will lead you into the landscapes of Portland’s feral medicinal herbs. This educational walk brings participants directly into the field. As we explore, we will talk about the medicinal actions, psycho-spiritual uses, ethical harvest and the medicinal preparation of each herb we find. Based off of the zine, “Urban Herbs,” we will incorporate the larger discussion of sustainable communities and our relationship with the urban environment. Participants will learn how to make an herbal tincture.
